THE GIFT OF MAGI

Certainly this is not about Bible story ...
Ther are some gifts which we get for our b day or for some occasions which carry certain formal words such as ''Best wishes''...but I got some gifts from the peoplewho really wished Best for me...
These unwrapped gifts cherish my mind whenever i think about it.....
In my fourth standard I GOT A BEAUTIFUL BOOK from my father's friend Charles uncle....It was a very small bound book which had some collections of plants animals etc...the bond cover was very attractive with some beautiful stars on it...I m still keeping that book with me bcos that was the first thing which I got from somebody in the namo of ''GIFT'
My thatha gave me a gift a oxford dictionary when I was in my 8th standard...the moment was very cherishable b cos my thatha gave it to me with a great suspense... he enquired a lot about the book shopb cos we were new to Salem at that time..I m still using it and see my 'thatha ' s sign on that dictionary
Another valuble gift and lovable gift was from my sugu chithappa....that was also in my 8th std... he got me a beautiful watch(that was the costlier gift i gotin that age)the white dialled hexagon shape watch with golden colour strap
The watch was in my hands for almost 13 yrs...I m stillkeeping that watch and trying to change its battery...
During my college days..my cousin Ravi ccame to salem... at that time he gave me a steel plate which costed 35 rs..and asked me to use that daily...my chemistry with that plate goes on welll and still using that...
My husband always tells ''Naane unakku gift dhan... pls dont ask any gifts'' (most husbb says same dialogue to their wife)but once gave me a beautiful hand bagg...a leather bag which is ideal bag for ladies but unfortunately that was the only giift I missed in one road accident...
Mort than the gifts the feeling of the person who gifted us speaks to us whenrver we see or think of that gifts....like the Gift of MAGI

"Ippadi ellam gift kodutthavangale paraati eluthinaa naangalum gift koditthiduvomnu ninappa?"

I also attach emotional bonding to gifts.... including the gift which I am going to receive from Prasanna.

Prasanna..nice to see you preserve those memorable gifts..
Looks like someone needs to send you a gift for having their names mentioned in your blog :)
I am not falling for this trap ;)

Keep blogging!

I agree. Gifts in any form carry a lot explicit and implicit.Preserving them and seeing them at intervals boost ones energy.

Very nicely penned... Gift is not only a kind, it is a bundle of love and memories.
